勃起不全、射精障害は、性機能障害と云われ、最近増えています。なんらかの原因で性交を維持することが困難な状態や射精ができない症状をさします。 性機能障害には精神的な理由や肉体的な要因があります。 勃起が持続しない、膣内で射精できないと言う症状は、男性にとってはかなり精神的なダメージを与えます。

性機能障害の理由は、原因不明が約6割と言われています、理由がつかないのは心因性の原因が多いからです。男性の性器は、交感神経、副交感神経（骨盤内臓神経）、体性神経（陰部神経）の支配を受けています。精神的、感情的な興奮や外陰部への刺激が中枢神経をとおり、勃起を誘発します（勃起神経）。勃起するまでにも身体の中では、様々な反応が起きているわけです。
射精についても、心理的な反応や、肉体的、神経的な反応などたくさんの要因が含まれています。原因にはストレスなどによる心因性のもの、脊髄損傷などによる神経性の原因。血管性の原因があります。

男性の性行為は「性的刺激」→「性欲がわく」→「勃起」→「性交」→「オーガズム」→「射精」→「陰茎弛緩」(萎えること)という流れで進みます。このどこかに問題があって成立しません。

鍼灸治療では、仙骨にある、仙骨孔の孔から、陰部神経に向けて、鍼をさして、骨盤内の血流改善と、陰部神経の神経機能促進に対して効果をあらわします。

Erectile dysfunction and ejaculatory dysfunction are referred to as sexual dysfunction and have been increasing in recent years. It is a condition in which a person has difficulty maintaining sexual intercourse or ejaculation for some reason. Sexual dysfunction can be caused by psychological or physical factors. Symptoms such as an inability to sustain an erection or to ejaculate vaginally can be very damaging to men emotionally.

It is estimated that about 60% of sexual dysfunctions are unexplained, the reason for the lack of a reason is often psychogenic. The male genitalia is innervated by sympathetic, parasympathetic (pelvic visceral) and somatic (pubic) nerves. Mental or emotional arousal or stimulation of the vulva passes through the central nervous system and triggers an erection (erectile nerves). So many reactions occur in the body before an erection occurs.
Ejaculation also involves many factors, including psychological, physical and neurological reactions. Causes include psychogenic causes, such as stress, and neurological causes, such as spinal cord injury. There are vascular causes.

Sexual activity in men proceeds in the following sequence: sexual stimulation, sexual desire, erection, intercourse, orgasm, ejaculation, penile relaxation (atrophy). Problems somewhere in this process prevent it from being established.

In acupuncture treatment, acupuncture needles are inserted through the sacral foramen to the pubic nerve to improve blood flow in the pelvis and to promote the nerve function of the pubic nerve.
