ハムストリング付着部炎は主にランニングやサイクリングなどでの酷使によって生じる臀部の痛み（坐骨結節の痛み）を特徴とした疾患です。大腿後面にある半膜様筋、半腱様筋、大腿二頭筋、（ハムストリング）の付着部に、繰り返し生じるストレスによる損傷が原因です。ハムストリング付着部炎では近くを走行する坐骨神経に沿った放散痛を生じさせることもあります。
Hamstring adhesiolitis is a condition characterized by pain in the buttocks (sciatic tuberosity pain) caused primarily by overuse in running and cycling.It is caused by repetitive stress injuries to the attachments of the semimembranosus, semitendinosus, biceps femoris, and (hamstring) muscles on the posterior aspect of the thigh.Hamstring adhesions can cause radiating pain along the nearby sciatic nerve.
