顎関節症
TMJ disorder
パソコン作業が多い女性。仕事中は一日中、パソコン前に座ってい事が多い。顎に違和感があると感じて来院。顎関節症の特徴でもある、顎がカクカク鳴ることとはないが、口が多少あけづらいといった症状を自覚している。鍼灸治療としては、上下のあごの位置関係が、理想的な状態になるように、左右の筋肉のバランスを、本来あるべき働きの位置に戻していきます。パソコン作業をしながら座っているときは、頭突き出すような姿勢、顎を前に突き出しすような姿勢になっている時が多いです。 下顎が後ろに下がるために、口の中が狭くなり食いしばるようになります。また、反り腰の人も、体の重心を、頭でバランスを取ろうとするので、首に力が入り、顔が上を向くようになり下あごが後ろに後退して食いしばるようになります。これが酷くなると、顎の違和感以外にも肩こり、首のコリ、腰痛を感じる事ことがあります。
A woman who works a lot with computers. She often sits in front of the computer all day at work. She came to the clinic because she felt discomfort in her jaw. She is not experiencing jaw snapping, which is a characteristic of TMJ disorder, but she is aware of symptoms such as difficulty in opening her mouth. Acupuncture treatment is to restore the balance between the left and right muscles to the ideal position of the upper and lower jaw. When we are sitting at a computer, we are often in a posture in which the head sticks out and the chin sticks forward. The lower jaw is lowered back, which narrows the mouth and causes clenching. People with slouching posture also try to balance their body's center of gravity with their head, which causes their neck to tighten, their face to turn upward, and their lower jaw to retract backward, causing them to clench their jaws. If this becomes severe, in addition to jaw discomfort, stiff shoulders, stiff neck, and back pain may be experienced.
