Knee pain Medial collateral ligament
The medial collateral ligament, which helps to maintain stability of the medial side of the knee, is torn when a strong external force is applied from the outside towards the inner thigh, causing pain in the medial side of the knee. Symptoms include pain on the inside of the knee when the knee is moved. Tenderness, heat and swelling may also be present. The knee may also feel wobbly and unstable depending on how it is moved. If left untreated, water may accumulate in the knee.
In the picture, there was a little water and fluffiness. As for the cause of the pain in this case, I suspected age-related degeneration during menopause, as the pain started gradually as she went about her daily life. As the knee joint deformity progressed, there was an added strain on the medial side of the knee, which could have increased tension on the medial side of the knee and damaged the medial collateral ligament.
Medial knee pain The treatment was aimed at relieving pain and promoting blood circulation for the damage to the medial collateral ligament. Acupuncture increases blood flow and local body temperature by dilating blood vessels in the stimulating area, eliminating endogenous pain substances, calming and analgesia in the affected area, improving pain caused by poor blood flow and promoting recovery of damaged neuromuscular tissue. Acupuncture stimulation → dilation of muscle blood vessels → appearance of flare phenomenon → increase in muscle blood flow → promotion of circulation → improvement of intramuscular blood flow, cold and pain.
