Finger deformation

指関節には、骨と骨の間には軟骨があります。軟骨は、骨どうしがぶつからないように、クッションのような役割があります。変形性指関節症では、この軟骨がすり減っります。そのため、骨が不安定になり、関節に負担がかかります。その結果、炎症が起こり、腫れや痛みが起こります。今症例では、指の第１関節に痛みと変形があり、指の曲がってきて、動きが悪くなってしまい、ティーカップなども指から滑り落ちるようになったり、大好きなゴルフでもシャフトが握れず、日常生活や趣味にも支障をきたすようになり来院されました。今回の患者さんは、指の変形と痛みですが、さらに軟骨がすり減ってくると骨と骨が直接ぶつかり、その影響で骨に棘ができてもっと強い痛みが出ます。そのまま治療をせずに指を使い続けると、次第に指が変形して、そのまま固定してしまい、炎症が治まって腫れや痛みはなくなっても、指の変形はそのままとなります。発症から指が変形して固定するまでに数年、または、もっと長い期間で変形が進行する人もいます。痛みのために可動域が狭まったり、指が変形するのは、変形性関節症の一種であり、手指の関節には、結節がでてきます。結節とは骨のこぶのようなもので、手指の関節が腫れて痛むだけでなく、関節にかたまりのような水ぶくれが現れることもあります。鍼治療では、直接、手指関節周囲に刺鍼したり、お灸したりして、指を温めて血流を改善をさせ、筋を弛緩させ、指のマッサージや運動療法を加えながら、痛みや変形を軽減させていきます

In finger joints, there is cartilage between the bones. The cartilage acts as a cushion to keep the bones from colliding with each other. In osteoarthritis, this cartilage wears away. As a result, the bones become unstable, putting stress on the joints. This results in inflammation, swelling and pain. In the present case, the patient came to our hospital with pain and deformity in the first joint of the finger, and the finger has become bent, and its movement has become poor, so that teacups and other objects slip off the finger. This time, the patient had finger deformity and pain, but as the cartilage wears down further, the bone collides directly with the bone, which causes spurs on the bone and more pain. If the patient continues to use the finger without treatment, the finger will gradually become deformed and fixed as it is, and even if the inflammation subsides and the swelling and pain disappear, the deformation of the finger will remain. Even though the inflammation subsides and the swelling and pain disappear, the deformity of the finger remains the same. The pain that causes limited range of motion and finger deformity is a form of osteoarthritis, which causes nodules to develop in the joints of the fingers. Nodules are bone bumps that not only cause swelling and pain in the joints of the fingers and toes, but also cause lumpy blisters to appear on the joints. Acupuncture treatment involves acupuncture needles or moxibustion directly around the finger joints to warm the fingers, improve blood flow, relax the muscles, and reduce pain and deformity while adding finger massage and exercise therapy.
