母指（親指）を広げると手首（手関節）の母指側の部分に腱が張って皮下に2本の線が浮かび上がります。ドケルバン病はその母指側の線である短母指伸筋腱と長母指外転筋が通るトンネル内で生じる腱鞘炎です。手首の母指側にある腱鞘（トンネル）とそこを通過する腱に炎症が起こった状態で、腱鞘の部分で腱の動きがスムーズでなくなり、手首の母指側が痛み、腫れます。母指を広げたり、動かしたりするとこの場所に強い疼痛が走ります。妊娠出産期の女性や更年期の女性に多く生じます。手の使いすぎやスポーツや指を良く使う仕事の人にも多いのが特徴です。

When the thumb (thumb) is spread out, two lines emerge under the skin due to tendon tension on the thumb side of the wrist (wrist joint). Dokervan's disease is a tendonitis that occurs in the tunnel through which the extensor hallucis longus and extensor digitorum longus tendons pass on the thumb side of the wrist. Inflammation of the tendon sheath (tunnel) and the tendons that pass through it on the thumb side of the wrist causes pain and swelling on the thumb side of the wrist as the tendons do not move smoothly in the sheath area. Strong pain occurs at this location when the thumb is spread or moved. It occurs most frequently in women during pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause. It is also common in people who overuse their hands, play sports, or work with their fingers a lot.

　A tunnel through which the tendons (1) and (2) pass.
